"From Amish Farm Boy to Jungle Doctor: The Life of Elam Stoltzfus" The only thing farther from the quiet, peaceful life Elam Stoltzfus always thought he'd lead as an Amish man in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, was the country he ended up calling home with his wife and children in 1972. Settling in northern Guatemala, Elam began a great adventure with his family, living on a houseboat on the Passion River. His children awoke every morning and swam with the crocodiles. His wife cooked bananas, and canned iguana meat. In a dozen villages along the river, the family planted churches. And on the four-hundred-acre property they settled, complete with buried Mayan temples, they opened a medical clinic where Elam became a self-taught jungle doctor. Nineteen years later, communist guerrillas swept into the mission compound, looted and burned the family's home, the medical clinic, canning center, and the mission's airplanes. Elam had thought the hardest thing he ever had to do was to leave his Amish life behind-until he had to stand with his wife and children amidst the burnt ruins of their life's work, and watch as his 23-year-old son was taken hostage, off into the night. It's a life Elam Stoltzfus never could have dreamed of, and a life readers will never forget. (Published and available now at Amazon.com on Kindle and in print.)

Dubai I wanted to choose a thing to write about and have it represent something more abstract such as a relationship or a lesson. I decided to write about how my lifestyle changed after moving here from Dubai. I lived in Dubai for 11 years and lived here for amour 6 years combined. Another thing I tried to do was to compare both lifestyles without being too literal! Room B227 This was written from an experience. I wrote about my old chemistry class where I made a great friendship and compared it to a planner I saw sit on the window of the bookstore. I compared the friendship in class to the book feeling lonely and not fitting in with others on the shelves. Future This poem is what my future means to me. Since I want to be a teacher, I described all the things & situations relevant to that. I also tried to avoid all the cliché words & phrases. I am not a terrorist This is a slam poem about Islam. Many associate the word terrorism with Islam, so I wanted to show that terrorism has no religion! Home away from home Story about Amish teenager David who wants to become a doctor but struggles due to his religion beliefs. Behind all of the people's backs in the village, he received secret tutoring. What will happen to him and his beliefs when he meets a girl on the city?

Zia Zook may have been born into an Amish family, but she inherited un-Amish desires (Star Wars, Harry Potter, Twilight, and Ninja Turtles to name a few). When these come between her and the love of her life, she escapes to a land far, far away - Greenwich Village - and meets a whole new world of characters - including a guy who looks far too much like Batman, the Christian Bale version. A story about a fandom girl, written by a fandom girl, for fandom-girls. Because fandoming is something you can't just quit like a bad habit. I hope you enjoy, and please feel free to comment. My heart gets all warm and tingly when I connect with a fellow fandom-er.

Dedications I am dedicating this book to my family and my loved ones. This book is not only about love but about adventure and what you're willing to sacrifice to have love and to have a family. Annie reminds me of me in many ways. I feel in my heart that I want to write a story about a brave girl who sees the world in full color and loves everything and everyone with her whole being. That's me, that's who I am. So now let's get on with Annie... Synopsis Annie is a young Amish lady, who was once an orphan, and who is always in sight of a new adventure. She soon finds out that the family she thought she knew wasn't her real family. So, she leaves her hometown and is off on her new adventure, an adventure to find her family. Along the way, she meets people who will tempt her and mislead her but she remains a strong young lady and finds true love in an unexpected relationship, a relationship with God. As she finds her family God speaks to her and warns her along the way but remains with her. Soon her adventurous actions catch up to her, but will she be alive to find out who her family is? Or is it her family she should be worried about?

Honestly, I've been writing a story and have quite enjoyed writing it. I found a web site I thought would be good for posting it, but that failed terribly. Well, not terribly, but it is tough to get the word out. I considered pulling the plug but decided not to do that. In stead, I am posting this here. And maybe other places. Anyhow, I'm posting this as, yes, an advertisement. I want to tell you about my story, but more importantly I want you to read the story. It is called "Chronicles of the Astro-Corps". I post a new part every month on the second. I just posted Part 1. It is about dragons. Yeah, dragons. Space dragons, actually. And four friends who have to stop these dragons from eating the cores of stars and wiping out the human race. Pretty effing awesome. If I am happy with the number of readers soon enough, I'll keep posting where I have been. If not, I'll stop and post somewhere else. MAYBE here. I'm not sure though. I'll figure it all out eventually soon. But I like the format the other site provides more, so yeah. So please check it out! Here's a link so you can get started: http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/TannerLinares/1749820/ Please check it out! And spread the word (even if it isn't your thing! Maybe it is a friend's thing!)! Thanks!
