Kenji came back to Japan because his father asked him to. He never asked to raise a giant baby kaiju, or switch baseball teams right before his first championship. He especially didn't ask for a nosy little reporter to keep pestering him about doing a "personal interview" with her- an interview he really doesn't want to do.
