What do you say when you are informed you are to be married when they pull you to the altar? What do you say when the trip you and your family had taken to the neighbouring fair folk realm for 'peace talks', had been in fact your very own wedding that you had not been told of? What do you say when you stare at the seventh prince to the Northern Highland realms that is home to the fair folk, as you both stand before a priest waiting for you to say something, anything? What do you say with the weight of human and fair folk eyes weighing down on your shoulders as you try to breathe through the panic you feel is crushing you? What do you say at everything shoving down at you because peace between the lands hang in the balance and all that can tip it is your words? Me? I said I do.

Book three of the Modern Cliche Series ~~~~~~~~~~~ Sup, my name is Sammi Catherine Knapper. I am your permanently exhausted, introverted twenty-five year old. The only thing I am above average in is the fact I can pull all nighters and still get to work in the morning. Yes, I have the super human power called being a night owl who has insomnia. It's incurable, believe me, I've tried. Thankfully, Jake (surfer dude turned bloodsucker), was just as confused as I was by his vampire abilities, drinking blood to survive aside, and we set upon a mission to figure out just what being a vampire meant and what he needed to do as well as track down his one night stand vampire daddy to give him hell. Teaching a vampire how to be a vampire, meeting a sibling group of baby vampires, starting a night time inventory business, as well as being kidnapped by an alcoholic vamp daddy, all I can say is: Are you shitting me?

He hadn't wanted a mate and his first thought was to reject her until she opened her rosy lips and demanded he do just that. Life is full of ups and downs. Sorrel Lamar knows this very well. Five years after she is now the Alpha of a territory she never asked for and is trying to put the pieces of the gutted pack together again. She is trying to bring the lost pack members together so the pack can once again be stable and have unity. It's a harsh battle to bring the pack from silence into truth but Sorrel is trying her best. She isn't sure which is more difficult though. The pack she is attempting to fix with limited knowledge. The vampire she saved three years previous. Her Beta who breaks the bones of males without provocation. Her Delta who snaps and snarls at anyone who attempts to approach him and his mate. Or the very fact of when she closed her eyes to sleep, she is bombarded with memories that are not her own and that she is always surprised to find she is still alive in the morning. That's because those haunted memories belong to someone who was killed, murdered to be exact. Sorrel doesn't know why she views these images while she sleep and she isn't sure how much longer she can take it. After all, in the memories she is forced to witness the last of her family dying over and over again and Sorrel knows one thing for certain. She can never change the past, no matter how badly she wants to save Magdalene.

That scary feeling

Lacey wasn't a very good witch. She was born to a powerful witch with a powerful warlock as a father, her siblings were also very powerful, the most powerful of all was BamBam. So in the face of such infamous magick, she had always felt inadequate. She was a Nolo Vis, who called herself Novis, but to everyone else, she was considered just as her magick was. Non-existent. That all changes when the high Mercutio Anadori, the Warlock King himself, sets his eyes on her. He offers to take her hand in marriage if she helps him find her sister. She had been kidnapped by a rabid werewolf and brainwashed into helping his nefarious purposes. She readily agrees out of love for her sister and the fact that the Warlock King is very sweet and considerate and the unnoticed Lacey is swept off her feet. So with the promise of marriage from the extremely powerful Warlock King, she starts her search for her sister with a large werewolf named, Abe. He was ordered to protect her but Novis has never encountered a werewolf before and is intimidated by the hulking mass of werewolf that follows her with a still sternness and a crass mouth. Things start to spiral out of control. Lacey starts to feel a deep attraction to the intense werewolf sent to guard her. He looks at her like no one has before, as if she was something of value and worth that was beautiful to behold. She is stuck between a deadly desire and her promise to King Mercutio for marriage. But her as body starts to fail on her, and having no magick to speak of, Lacey knows time is running out and that things aren't always what they seem. She begins to wonder who she can trust in a world where enemies are behind every corner. Who is the true enemy, the Warlock King, her sister, or the werewolf who sets her body and imagination on fire? Hush hush Let your Magick rush

Put on a pilgrimage ship to another planet, due to family debt she cannot escape, Anita Myers was resigned to her fate. A farmer by trade, she understood what she was getting into. She would help settle the 'new frontier', plant crops, catch dysentery probably, and then be buried in the backyard of her little dirt house. Except that didn't happen. Their ship crashed. On a completely different planet. **My Entry for AMLKoski's Give Back Contest: Bitter Winter** Alexandra Winters didn't have a problem --she had a diagnosis. It just so happened that her ADHD made it necessary for her to take amphetamines, and it just so happened that her school --her dream, perfect life, cinderella-school-- had a very strict drug-free policy. No exceptions. It was fine for a while. But as with most things, Karma tends to catch up with you and the consequences for her actions might be too bitter of a pill to swallow.
