కొన్ని రోజులు గడిచాయి. రాహుల్ పాఠశాలలో జరిగిన "ఫాదర్స్ డే" కార్యక్రమానికి వెళ్లాడు. అన్ని పిల్లలు తమ నాన్నలతో వచ్చారు. రాహుల్ ఒక్కడే ఒంటరిగా కూర్చున్నాడు. ఆ క్షణం అతనికి కన్నీళ్లు వచ్చాయి. కానీ అమ్మ చెప్పిన మాట గుర్తుకు తెచ్చుకున్నాడు - "నువ్వు మంచి పనులు చేస్తే, నాన్న గర్వపడతారు." రాహుల్ తన గుండెల్లో నాన్నను ఊహించుకున్నాడు. పోటీ మొదలైంది. టీచర్ అన్నాడు: "ఈ రోజు మన నాన్నల గురించి చెప్పాలి." అందరూ తమ నాన్నల గురించి చెబుతుండగా, రాహుల్ కూడా లేచి చెప్పాడు: "నా నాన్న నా హీరో. ఆయన ఇప్పుడు మనతో లేరు కానీ, అమ్మ చెబుతుంది ఆయన నాకు ఎప్పుడూ తోడుగా ఉంటారని. నేను చదువులో బాగా రాణిస్తే, ఇతరులకు సహాయం చేస్తే, నాన్న సంతోషిస్తారని నమ్ముతాను." అందరూ కాసేపు నిశ్శబ్దంగా విన్నారు. టీచర్ కళ్లల్లో నీళ్లు వచ్చాయి.
