Duck Newton is a park ranger, and a member of the Pine Guard. It's his job to make sure there's nothing wrong happening in the forest, natural or otherwise. It's February. It's cold. Duck is stuck checking the forest after a severe blizzard to ensure that everything's fine, and that no one gotten stuck out in the storm. Duck was expecting a few damaged trees, maybe some lost couple who had been on a walk when the blizzard started, but not what he did find. Two unusual little boys who weren't of this world. Guen and her friends are led by the entity in question not to the Zoloch estate, but to another house in town... a house that harbors a dark secret that will change the way things are done in Amnesty forever.

Most people prefer to be in the "group" because they lack confidence in their ability to make decisions. Some of them feel they can't make any difference if they choose not to be in the group, others feel uncomfortable to be against the majority. The unfortunate truth is that they are afraid of even thinking differently from others, this makes them get convinced so easily by their leaders and everyone else. People should stand out for themselves and understand what they want and what is really important. That is what makes us different from everyone else having different perspectives creates a wonderful world of creativity and development. If everyone of was to think the same then there'd be no evolution of anything in the world.....
