The story is set in a dystopian future, where Earth, once home--gecame overcrowded, choking under its own weight. The solution was exile; humanity scattered into the stars, each ship sustained by the Screen. The Screen was flawless. It assigned every crewmate a color, a role, a set of tasks. Engineer, Crewmate, Scientist--each duty essential to survival. For years, the system worked. The ships thrived. Until the first Impostor Massacre. The Screen glitched. For the first time, it gave a Red crewmate a role never seen before. Impostor. Pretend. Betray. Kill. And though the ships carried on, the shadow of the Impostor never left them. Many years later, the legend of the Impostor was nothing more than an urban legend, some dark fairy tale. Parents whispered it to children to keep them obedient, a ectime story of betrayal and blood. No one believed it anymore. Not really. Until Rain and Lucia, and their circle of friends, were placed together on one ship.
