Seonghwa welcomed the taste of blood, even smiled at the sight of it pooling under his feet, because that meant he was still alive. That meant another day on the front lines protecting the one place that still remained free until the rebellion was successful. That meant there was still a fighting chance, there was still hope that would come with the new dawn as more forces from the government would be sent in. Only today it did not taste like victory or revenge. The pounding taste of the foul liquid was vile and defeating in the worst way. While Seonghwa knew of the powerful feeling of looking down on his fallen opponent, he wasn't completely unfamiliar with the feeling of being the one on his knees instead, completely defenseless to take each beating that came without pause.
