DeusBeowulf
The fjords of Norway run red with the King's "peace."
Under the boot of Ásmund Iron-Grip, free settlements are forced to kneel. His Jarls demand a blood-tithe, stealing grain, iron, and futures. To resist is to die.
But in the shadows of the longhouses, a secret pact is sworn. A boat-builder, a trapper, and a wandering skáld (poet) form a desperate alliance. They believe no karl (freeman) should serve a konungr (king). They call themselves the Freemen's Shield.
As they seek to unite the broken villages, they discover a darker threat. The land itself is in torment. Ancient burial mounds are stirring. Monsters from forgotten myths are waking.
To fight the King's iron, they may have to unleash a darkness they cannot control.
