TLDR: Re: Forgotten but if Subaru had been transformed by Capella and was kidnapped by Regulus, soon to make her his wife. "Unexpectedly," he was able to reunite with Emilia, and it would be understandable of her to not recognize him at first, but... for her to not know of who Natsuki Subaru was like she had struck him on the head with a spiked bat over and over again.
