Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanova is the fourth child of the Russian Tsar Nicholas. But at 16, she has few privileges past those of other girls her age. Her family is apathetic to her emotions, with the exception of her older sister Maria. Alexei, the crown prince, lives in constant fear of bleeding to death, as hemophilia takes the last male heir to the Romanov dynasty. Meanwhile, the Bolsheviks have been gaining power, and their secret soldiers are posted everywhere in Moscow. Too many young men are drafted into this secret army, offered only the alternative of death. Things reach a boiling point when the royal family is put under house arrest by the Bolshevik Cheka. Rumors are flying around the palace. There is talk of a "final blow", and Anastasia's whole world is about to be turned upside down.

After recently becoming obsessed with the Anastasia musical (a few months after seeing the movie my first time), I decided it would be cool to write a One-Shot book for Anya and Dmitry! Types may include: Canon Non-canon AU Modern AU Thanks for reading! :)

Years after an attack on the Romanov family, the royal family is trying to find their long lost members. Some believe they are all still alive, some speculate they were brutally murdered as a family. The reward for finding one family member is 12,000,000 rubles, a reward higher than the lottery. The people of Russia are willing to do anything to obtain the reward, anything from faking their appearances to digging up graves in hopes of finding a body, a jewel, a crown. Luka wants the money just as much as anybody else in Russia. And when he finds Arkadina (Arkadi for short), the spitting image of Anastasia, the lost grand duchess, he can't believe his luck. Arkadi knows who she is, in fact, she's trying to forget. Sure, if she returned to the palace, she would be treated like the princess she is, but that's not enough to make her want to return to the life she had as a child. Something worse is waiting for her back home and she'd rather die than let anyone take her back to the palace.

Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember and a song someone sings, once upon a December. It's 1906 in St.Petersburg, the world is alive and the Grand Duchess is only 5, a shared look between her grandmother, a knowing smile, a cry of longing and a music box, their little secret. She's leaving for Paris without Anastasia. It's 1917, Anastasia is 16, adored by everyone, the youngest of the Tsar's daughters and she is the picture of beauty. That is until the Bolsheviks attack the palace and the royals are taken to Ipatiev house in Yekaterinburg. They are never seen again. It's 1918, the Romanov family are woken during the night and told to dress, they are being moved to a safer location. They walk down to the cellar of the Ipatiev house, awaiting the arrival of their transport. It never came. They were executed right there in the cellar, no Romanov was left alive. It's 1927, and there's a rumour in St. Petersburg. Although the Tsar did not survive, one daughter may be still alive, the Princess Anastasia, but please do not repeat. This is the companion novel to the 2017 Broadway musical, giving insights to the story, and telling a much darker, historical twist to the enchanting tale. This may include references and implications to the 1997 original movie

Anya met Dmitri at the bridge, she caught him before he left. But an uncalled for disaster messes up all of the problems they had just solved. (Aka I reworked the final scene and once that's solved it's just a bunch of adorable Dimya fluff)

Later in 1928, he married a woman of a wealthy family while hiding under a false family as well as name, later telling her when he knew it was safe enough. Now in the present era, their descendants live in Mystic Falls unaware of the dangers that lurk within the town soon find themselves in an adventure of life and romance after a boy named Stefan Salvatore moves into town.
