On October 19th 2022 I published a fanfic with this title but with an entirely different plot I didn't like the book anymore so I deleted the old book and decided to rewrite the whole entire book.

The first mermaid is discovered rotting on a rocky shore. The second is found, freshly dead, across the ocean. But the third mermaid... the third mermaid is caught alive.
