What if the Apple decided to save his life instead of allowing it's lunatic creator's decisions kill him in the Temple? The Apple sent him to a world that is different from Earth yet similar and also much more dangerous with a few gifts. In return that, Desmond kept it safe and away from other greedy and power hungry people. This is an Assassins Creed and Final Fantasy 7 crossover. The two games are not mine. I only own the fanfic.
