When I woke, the air itself felt alive humming, trembling, steeped in an energy too ancient for words. I was in the great hall again, though it no longer looked like a throne room. It had become a sanctum. A place of blood and shadows. The floor was covered in symbols that glowed like molten gold. Demons stood in the corners silent, robed, faces hidden their whispers forming a chant that did not belong to the living. At the center of it all stood that man? I don't even know what to call him a man? A demon? An entity?. The torches burned black. His wings vast, terrible, divine arched high, trembling as though resisting his own command. His skin bore markings that pulsed with faint red light, as if the runes themselves were feeding on him. The Priest stepped forward, carrying a vessel carved from obsidian and bone. "The king's blood will awaken the bond," he said, his voice hollow. "It will seal her soul beneath his shadow." His gaze flickered toward me distant yet heavy with something unspoken. Then he nodded. He stepped inside the glowing circle. The priest began the incantation a language so old that even the stones seemed to echo its rhythm. The light around him grew brighter, burning against his skin. When the blade appeared a black shard humming with dark power he took it without hesitation. His fingers tightened around the hilt as he turned it towards me . "Not her , the king bleeds first, always the king" the priest said and he turned the dagger towards him.
