An essay I wrote recently in my English class that was supposed to be in the style of Maya Angelou's "Graduation", but with the events of your own graduation. Would love some feedback

Seventeen-year-old Sparroe del Angelou is the last human socialite in a world were the most valued thing is the ability to dream. After her family is torn away from her and she is forced to live on the streets, Sparroe is discovered by the remaining shells of the elite, the Night People. Can she save herself and the rest of a dying world, or will she give in to the greed? Short (ish) dystopian story for @Ms_NerdAlerts contest. Not complete

I love Maya Angelou and her poem Still I Rise and I felt a heavy burden on my heart so I chose to lift it using Still I Rise as an inspiration to write this poem. It's a little rough around the edges, but my best friend said she liked it, so I thought I'd give you guys a try. Let's hope she didn't lie ;) Love yourself xx p.s. Tell me if you hate the title! Evangeline Summers' father is playing a dangerous game, and her family could be caught in the cross hairs. She receives a phone call detailing how to keep her family alive, and she becomes the pawn of the mysterious Gryphon. Doubts arise in her mind about which is truly the evil one. Gryphon? Or her own father? Among all of this, she meets Alex Lock, who wants nothing other than to protect her. But how do you protect someone with a target on her back, especially when she holds the key to your heart?

This will just be a collection of me writing my feelings to the quotes that I read from my "Pocket MAYA ANGELOU Wisdom" Book. This pocket book has inspirational quotes and wise words from the legendary icon Maya Angelou. I feel as if me writing what I feel to the quotes will, provide me with a clearer perspective of my life and provide me with wisdom on how I should go about creating a new life for myself. Now I know this will take time and won't come just from writing but it's a start. I love writing so I found this to be a way I can express myself, And get my writing out there. I'll also be posting poems that I write in here. Feel free to comment on any of the writings. Express yourself as I express myself. . . .
