When an Angel turns 18 they take the test, only after this test can you be a true Angel; if you fail you become mortal. When Gabriel fails, he goes and becomes mortal where he meets Swarin; a Devil who also failed the test; who didn't fly far enough to reach Heaven and had to become mortal. When they tell each other about devils and angels they become the grim reapers next target. On the run they become unlikely friends. Swarin tries to get wings while Gabriel tries to earn his horns. A Devil who flew part way and an angel who didn't fall far enough; from two worlds but similar stories.
