Delia has already gone through so much this year. First being asked to join an all boys school as the first female student, then constantly being bothered by those boys, and finally getting into and argument with her mom who told her to not come back home for Christmas. Now she is stuck at her school during the most wonderful time of the year with her least favourite fellow student, Angus Tully.

The end of winter break was only a week or so ago, and more importantly Paul Hunham had been fired from Barton just as long ago. Angus went back to the routine of his school life until an incident during PE brought him to confront how he's been feeling ever since his former teacher left.
