People said animals could smell danger. Rowan learned young that humans were usually worse. After the world ends, she returns to the animal rehabilitation center she once worked at to free the creatures left behind. Instead, she finds a dying jaguar and the cub she leaves behind. From that moment on, Rowan stops trying to belong to people at all. Years later, rumors spread across the wasteland about Negan's younger sister, the woman who rides with a stallion like thunder, a wolfdog that mirrors her anger, a hawk circling overhead, and a black jaguar that walks beside her like death itself. Cold. Violent. Inhuman. At least that's what people say. When Rowan crosses paths with Rick Grimes' group, they already think they know exactly what she is. She's taken prisoner, distrusted, feared, and watched constantly while her animals grow restless behind Alexandria's walls. And with Negan searching for the sibling who disappeared from his side long ago, Rowan quickly becomes more than just a threat, she becomes a problem no one knows how to solve. Especially Daryl Dixon. Because the closer he gets to her, the more he realizes something terrifying. The woman everyone calls a monster only ever felt safe beside animals. And maybe there's a reason they bare their teeth whenever humans get too close. No Animal Bites Without Reason A slow-burn, survival-heavy The Walking Dead fanfiction featuring, - enemies to lovers - morally gray protagonist - animal companionship - slow burn Daryl Dixon romance - psychological trauma - survival realism - found family

The lhounds, or lion-hounds, were never intended to be anything more extraordinary than very large, very formidable working animals. The scientists who crossed the great Etabrian hounds with plains lions had merely hoped to produce a more effective protector for the herds. What they produced instead was something much larger, much fiercer, and very much more intelligent than anybody had foreseen. And, it turned out, possessed of other, rather unsettling abilities that the scientists had certainly not intended. When the decision was taken that these inconveniently powerful creatures should be destroyed, the lhounds did not oblige. They escaped into the mountain vastnesses and for many years remained there, feared, half-legendary, and very wisely left alone. But Etabria's uneasy peace is beginning to fracture. Lhounds are being stolen - and dark rumours are spreading of creatures bred or broken into weapons. And far from the centre of power, Queen Eruda begins to fear that the greatest danger to the Kingdoms may not come from beyond their borders, but from within. For Lenard Denarion of the Imperial Lhound Regiment, and Xand, his immensely powerful and quite insufferably self-satisfied lhound, the journey begins as an urgent mission across hostile country. It will become something far greater. For if Etabria is to survive what is coming, human and lhound will have to stand together. Not as master and beast, but as minds joined in loyalty, courage, and terrible necessity. Lenard

Turning me and a friends D&D campaign into a novel to gift her for Christmas. The ancient portal was never meant to be opened again. Hidden deep within Zera, it has waited in silence for centuries, stripped of the five crystals that once fuelled it. When the jolly moon elf Morlo and her mute tiefling companion Taverra are entrusted with restoring it, what begins as a simple quest quickly becomes something far more dangerous. Each landmark forgotten in time hides another piece of the portal. Each guardian protects more than a crystal. And with every step forward, the truth surrounding Morlo's past, Teverra's curse, and the lost realm of Selene begins to unravel. Some doors remain closed for a reason. ** NOTE ** I am writing this book as my friend and I are playing through our first campaign together. We have not finished it yet and only meet up around once a month, so there is a chance for some breaks between chapters. As of now I have 4 chapters finished (session 0-3) and will likely add some none campaign canon chapters between (additional lore, things that take place between session, etc.) Regardless, it needs to be finished by November LATEST so it should all be out by then. Please be patient but most of all please ENJOY!! I am the DM and my friend plays the character Morlo. Teverra is her companion that I sort of play but honestly she's just there to help in battles... I've written the characters WAY more fleshed out and added some better story telling + world lore during the writing process. Don't want her to be bored reading it since she has already lived it haha!

Where the luminous Tree on the town square connects worlds, and the Black Forest is home to creatures from childhood fears and fairy tales. Kairin arrived as a simple heiress, but quickly realized her old house is just one part of a vast, living organism known as the Pendleton Valley. Her fluffy domovoy, Tutti, seems to know all about it, but remains silent. The locals watch the new resident with suspicion. Now, Kairin must unravel why her modest inheritance turned out to be the key to a door that was never meant to be opened. Because the magic of Wolfdale isn't confined to her garden-it permeates everything, from the roots of the ancient Tree on the square to the farthest mountain peaks.
