A single poem written about animal abuse. The poem is from the perspective of an animal from behind the bars of a cage. This is very short, and the first thing I posted. I enjoy feedback, Thank you :D

PIG 3074 "The first thing I felt was the pain from landing on a concrete floor and the terrifying smell of ammonia. I wasn't lonely. I had my mom and my 9 sillbings. I heard a non-stopping heartbreaking sound from thousends of indviduals that I couldn't see because there was some high grey walls that covered it. I didn't knew why they screamed. But soon, I'll know why and Im going to tell you too because this is a story about my life, called "Pig 3074" and that was how it all started."

Ok, I'm here to tell you why you should go vegan, as you can probably see from the title. If I was to state every reason why you should go vegan, I'd be here forever, so as it is, I'm going to state some of the better reasons. After this, you won't be able to come up with any valid arguments as to why you shouldn't go vegan. The question will no longer "Why should I go vegan?" It will be "Why shouldn't I go vegan?"

I wrote this short story based on a real life story that happened in my country. I wanted to raise awareness about Animal Rights. I hope you like it.

This is a thought-provoking poem about animal rights, the environment and the choices we make, and how our choices negatively impact our planet and other animals. Most of us would claim to be against animal cruelty, and would claim that we would save the planet if we could*, yet it is not meaningless words without real intent that make the difference, it is our choices and our actions. We all have the power to make the world a better place, if we truly believe we can, and take action and make more compassionate, ethical choices when it comes to our diet, lifestyle and purchases. * We absolutely CAN all help to save and heal the world - we just need to believe that we can and make the right choices.

On South Africa's Cape Peninsula-a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a protected landscape of ancient fynbos and impossible beauty-baboons are being erased. Chased from dawn to dusk by paintball-wielding monitors. Shot in roosting sites and on the mountain that is meant to be their home. Buried in unmarked graves. Scheduled for enclosures euphemistically called "sanctuaries," with euthanasia protocols built into the fine print. And those who object are told: speak, and we take the better option away. This prose poem is a refusal of that silence. It is a cartography of the lost-the dispersing males who crossed invisible lines, the troops buried in soft sand, the euthanised whose deaths are spoken of only in passive voice. It is a meditation on what heritage means when protection can be revoked the moment it becomes inconvenient. It is an act of witness when all democratic channels have emptied into bureaucratic sand. What does aversion teach when there is nowhere left to go? For the baboons still running through a home that no longer answers when they ask where they can be. For those who cannot stay silent. It really breaks my heart when people are cruel towards stray animals. And also sometimes to their own pets.
