Giving up his voice out of love for the mermaid Princess (which goes wildly unwell), Kyran reluctantly journeys with the Princess to KILL the Prince who had wronged her. An orphan of shipwreck, Kyran was granted the gift to live between the land and sea. Years of knowing the mermaid princess since the day she found him lost and afraid, lead him to love her (quite unbeknownst to her). The Prologue is in a very rhythmic FAIRYTALE format. From there, the Chapters will be in a more MODERNIZED format (not quite omniscient, not quite one perspective. But certainly not all perspectives... I hope I chose the porridge bowl, chair, and bed that's juussst riiiiiiight.) After reading “The Little Mermaid” by Hans Christian Anderson, I was intrigued and disturbed. So a year or so ago, I wrote my own rendition of the wonder tale. Originally, it was a short story critiquing that period's dominant cultural values that depicted virtue in falling in love with the superficial (predominantly regarding wealth, power, elegance and beauty). However, I decided to turn the short into a longer novel, and who knows... perhaps a series. Also, don't get "the Flounder Boy" confused with "Flounder" from Disney ;) I know. I shouldn't have done that, but... i really like the title. So bear with me!

The world, our Earth, is under invasion, by Yeerks, alien slugs that control every species that has brains. And I tell you, more than the ignorant human race is hindering it. Andalites, who promised to send a fleet, had their first try destroyed. I met one of them, an Andalite, that gave me the power to morph absolutely any animal under the sun. And I think we're the only ones who hinders back the invasion. I was very wrong after I flew over the construction site. And you know what? Their first impression to me is hatred. Savannah is an Animorph, just like Cassie, Rachel, Jake, Marco and Tobias. The only thing is, she has been one much longer. It wasn't too much longer after the Yeerks first arrived on Earth that Savannah gained the power to morph. She wasn't there on that fateful night at the construction site, but she had her own fateful night. At the age of twelve, Savannah had encountered an Andalite, not too far from her own home. When she discovered it, the Andalite explained to her what the Yeerks were. It told her that she had to fight, as the Andalite itself was dying. Savannah would have to work on her own to fight the Yeerks, and the only weapon she had against the seemingly-silent invaders was the power to morph. She kept it to herself for many years, but still used it to fight the Yeerks when she could. A few years later, though, the other Animorphs had encountered Prince Elfangor, dragging them into the war as well. Since Savannah was just as unaware of the other Animorphs as they were of her, both parties assumed they were still on their own. That was, until Savannah spotted one of them morphing. Cassie, the one Animorph that seemed to have the most talent for morphing, must not have realized that Savannah was in the woods, not too far from her. Cassie had demorphed from the form of an Osprey, and that told Savannah she wasn't the only human that could morph. She approached her, and so many things changed.
