Cordelia vane just moved to Avonlea. Cordelia Vane is the shadow to Anne Shirley's sun. While Anne arrived in Avonlea with a suitcase full of big words and even bigger dreams, Cordelia arrives with nothing but a heavy silence and a guarded heart. Cordelia didn't grow up in an asylum; she grew up on the docks of Halifax. Her father was a disgraced sailor who taught her how to read the stars before he vanished at sea, leaving her to fend for herself in a world that has no place for a girl alone. She has learned that "hope" is a dangerous thing. She is practical, sharp-tongued when she does speak, and deeply suspicious of the "kindness" of the people in Avonlea. She is sent to Avonlea to work as a scullery maid for a family that is much less welcoming than the Cuthberts. What will happen when she meets Gilbert Blythe?

"Are you okay?" Jerry asks softly, making the girl on top of him immediately open her eyes and widen them. Suddenly feeling embarrassed, she tries to get up off of the boy who she did not know, but was unsuccessful as she begins to cough and feel light headed immediately. "Relax, ma belle, I don't mind," Jerry laughs innocently, and Gabriela chuckles as she falls back onto him. "Please don't tell Gilbert," Gaby groaned realizing how mad her brother would be. - Gabriela Blythe could give anyone in Avonlea, nay, all of PEI and beyond a run for their money. - This is based of the show Anne with an E, although I am fairly sure that you can probably read it without knowing about the show!
