This story about Annie and Finnick's life is inspired by the Hunger Games books, movies and fan movies. I don't own any of this. I mixed the movies and books and added some fan made stuff. The Hunger Games is owned by Suzanne Collins. All book accurate things are owned entirely by her.

Annie Cresta has always struggled to keep her head above the water. When she is placed into the 70th annual Hunger Games, she feels like she is drowning. When she meets her mentor Finnick Odair, she feels like he is her only link to above the water. In and out of the Arena he is the only thing keeping her from drowning.

Ember Odair leads a rich life in District 4: she's the sister of the famous Finnick Odair, winner of the Hunger Games at just 14 years old, and she knows that everyone hopes that one day she will offer herself as a tribute. However, there's no need, because first her sister Ribelle is reaped and, the following year, she herself, at her first Reaping. This Odair "massacre" goes against all statistics and Ember will have to end her childhood too soon, forced to grow up early by the horrible world into which she was born. Living in a District of Panem meant that she measured years in function of the Reaping: right know she wasn't just a fifteen-year-old girl, she was four years in her name possibly being drawn, four years in possibly falling victim of the Hunger Games.
