At home, she's an anorexic in quasi-recovery, struggling to push her feelings below the surface. On top of all that, she now has to deal with her boyfriend's cousin, Max, who has dedicated his time to annoying her, and who also happens to be very easy on the eyes. When Max begins to realise that Addy needs help, the lines between them are blurred. He drives Addy crazy in every way possible, and soon she's addicted to his touch and the fire she sees in his eyes. But Addy has sacrificed so much for control, including her relationship. If she keeps going with Max, she could lose it.

Chocolate cake! Omg yum! My favourite! Oh wait, no. I can't have that cause that will make me put on weight. Maybe I can a small slice? NO!!! Stop it! Go away! Look away, look away, look away! Drink water. That will help get rid of my food cravings. Aww. That chocolate cake looks so good though! Maybe a little slice won't hurt after all. *grabs a small slice and eats it* Oh no. That was a very bad idea. I've put on weight now! This can't happen! What can I do! I need to get rid of it. That's better. I feel slimmer now. I just need to brush my teeth so my breath doesn't stink. I'll just drink water for the rest of the day now. Oh crap. I still have dinner to eat. I can get rid of that too.....

Clay's life has never been easy after severe harm was caused by his drunk father. His mother can't decide anything at home and daily arguments go so far that his mother regularly escapes the house. Clay feels lost and starts blaming himself for all problems at home. Instead of asking someone for help, he decides to start starving himself to gain some control in his life. His attempt to lose weight goes so far that his weight drops dangerously low which leads to a forced hospital stay, causing a lot of traumatic experiences. No one seems to understand the very sick Clay and he starts slipping away more and more, not believing anyone who tells him he suffers from anorexia nervosa. Everything keeps escalating until a young boy with bulimia nervosa stays with him in his hospital room... Everyone is a Survivor is what I hope will become my story of dealing with mental illness. The first "part" is the rant that I thought up about why there is so much stigma and secrecy revolving around mental illness. This is a work in progress, so hopefully as time goes by this will become an inspiration for others to speak out about their mental illness. Always remember, you are not alone and you can always feel free to talk to me if you need someone to vent to. :)

This story is about the Netflix film 'To the bone', the story of a 20-year-old woman with Anorexia Nervosa. I was dissatisfied with the ending as it left so many questions so I took it upon my self to continue the story. This story also heavily involves eating disorders and recovery so if you are sensitive about that then I wouldn't recommend that you read this book.

I will not be controlled by my eating disorder. I will control it. A short story detailing my experience with anorexia nervosa.
