Story 2: Her head turns unraveling her true emotions. Her eyes so colorful now haunted by a red scarlet. Vomit is smothered across her blood ridden lips and tears fall from her pale skin. Yellow chunks of bile hang in her fallen hair. This girl hasn't been diagnosed bulimic nor has she caught the common flu. She has watched a man kill 27 people and his father turn 4 humans into 1. She stares at both, both of which she has found compassion for. They are the government, the ones who cursed her with her colorful eyes that cover her vision when she seems to remember something. The man who took away all her memories and replaced them with fake ones so she wouldn't fret. She's trapped in the Society, watching as they kill off civilians but she was here to get her memory back. Olympia demands her memory back, only then does she realize she is an experiment of her own. What will she do? The second edition to Mirror at a Glance.

Our story begins with the birth of a child. It is the year 2101, the start of the 22nd century. Chronicles, the land home to the smartest people in the universe, has been colonized by its neighbor country and placed under the oppressive dictatorship of a ruler who possesses a cruelty beyond imaginable. This dictator is the only known human in the universe to possess magical powers. Using his strengths, he has sucked out all of the light and warmth in the world of Chronicles, leaving it empty and cold. But just as the citizens of Chronicles begin to lose hope, a glowing, powerful force is born into their midst. This source of strength comes from a young Chronicle girl. While she seems to be only a small, unremarkable ember now, what the people don't know is that she will later grow up to ignite and spread one of the wildest and fiercest figurative fires in the entire history of their country. Our narrator has been born with a strong sense of patriotism, a definite will to fight for what she believes. But in a world gone both figuratively and literally dark and cold, in a world where all acts of rebellion are extinguished and shut down by the government, is it possible to survive as a patriot? Will it prove to be possible for just one individual to guide a nation's fate into the right direction? And when the world is in such darkness, will there be light at the end of the tunnel?

A warning from a nightmare future. Ten years after the UK fragmented, the emergency mandate of the Consensus goverment is coming to an end. At long last a General Election is due. World-weary journalist Richard Davies becomes reluctantly drawn into the aspiring National Renewal Party's campaign. But as long suppressed social tensions erupt on to the streets of a nation so much like - yet so different from - our own, he stumbles across a conspiracy aimed at the very heart of the relaunched democracy. With his options for doing the right thing in a world gone wrong narrowing and time running out, somehow Richard has to survive long enough to expose the greatest scoop of his career. A 151,000 word novel written between 2012-14. The 'future' I imagined has diverged from our current timeline, but many of the book's themes are still sadly only too relevant. For more information and a plot overview I recommend the companion Readers' Guide. https://www.wattpad.com/story/51378045-the-blurt-of-richard-davies-reading-guide This novel contains mature, unsettling, and dark themes. The Blurt was previously voluntarily listed as Mature, but if Wattpad won't play fair by their hiding works so listed from being seen by the general audience, I see no reason to abide by such a ridiculous policy. Just be aware of what it is you are getting into.

The General plans a revolution to seize leadership and create New Patriot Alaska before advancing his plan to take America back. With the help of astute fellow reporter Ray Walker, her friend Mo Scott a gentle but fierce survivor of domestic violence, and the intriguing head of homicide, Sergeant August Platonovich, Zilla risks her life to report on this well-armed, murderous group bent on total destruction.
