Even the most uneducated can have a mind for adventure - especially when it comes to saving the world. A man with a tie is discovered outside the limits of a dried-up settlement in the middle of nowhere, bearing a plague that was long thought to be contained behind the walls of Ban-Ken. When Master Drew Hughes discovers that the man intends to spread the disease beyond the great city, it is up to the private alcoholic and a loud-mouthed orphan, Alyn Smythy, to brave the city's walls and put a stop to the man-made plague before its power falls into the wrong hands. Book one of two. [BOUND FOR EXTENSIVE REWRITES IN NOVEMBER!] If you are triggered by suicide mentions, probably about three suggestions of it crop up total in this book. When death stops being inevitable, it becomes procedural. Medical science has extended the human body beyond it limit, erasing illness, aging, and most forms of natural death. Survival is no longer uncertain, but meaning is. In a society that treats immortality as progress, the question is no longer how long a person lives, but when an end is necessary. Theos is a doctor whose work inspires trust. His hands are steady, his decisions precise, his presence reassuring. Patients feel safe under his care. Institutions depend on his competence. No one questions the authority that gathers around him. Not even Theos himself. As expectations accumulate and responsibility mounting, the boundary between moral and belief begins to blur. What was once mercy was dictate. What was once unthinkable becomes practice. When death no longer arrives on its own, someone will decide how it enters. And Theos has never learned how to refuse it.

⚠️All these characters belong to the producers of My Hero Academia⚠️ (I'm making a new part soon so it you started reading the story already I suggest you re read the prologue since I've made some changes) In this story you play as Y/N, Y/N's quirk: Spite (or 'Counter' whatever you want to call it) They can perfectly counter any other person's quirk. In order to do this they need to observe the other person's quirk. The more they see and the better they understand, the easier it's be to counter and use. The other person's must be in a 1 mile radius of Y/N. They can counter up to 3 quirks at a time but it slows them down to switch between them, all the counter quirk is erased after 5 minutes but they can be used again. Y/N has never had an easy life, loosing there parents, being abandoned by their older brother, having to live on the streets. Y/N had to do something or they would starve, so at the age of 10 they became a hero. That's what they thought at least, but in the eyes of so society they were the exact opposite. Labeled as an unidentified villain, Y/N was eventually caught but since they were only 14 they weren't sent to jail, instead sent to a worse fate. 𝘚𝘀𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭.
