Irene Lee, according to most of the school population, doesn't belong at Heights Academy, one of the most prestigious private schools in the world. Her mother is a under-paid secretary and her father is totally out of the picture. But she pushes through quite well, and manages to guide her way through heirs to million-dollar-companies, and children of movie stars with her two best friends, Evan Markus and Emily Dova. But then, she gets paired with Dean Lancaster, gorgeous, star quarterback, heir to a billion-dollar company for a Biology project. He's just the kind of person she's learned to hate, but soon she learns that Dean is not all that meets the eye. Then everything in her carefully-planned life changes. Becoming the one to find the body of the victim of a scandalous murder, Irene is soon swept into a world of lies and danger.

It has taken years for Vincent to finally recover from his father's death, made easier by his choice to avoid people. He's always believed that it would be safer for him that way. During his final year at high school, however, he finds himself forced out of his shell - and some of his new friends seem interested in something more. So when drama enters his life in a very sudden and seemingly random way, he finds himself lost and stranded from the one thing that could keep him anchored; his art. Without it, he might not even be able to keep his sanity.

I never bothered to aim down my sights, I was blinded by the cascading snow. I just wanted to pluck a couple leaves, eat some Reese's pieces, and go home. Leave the forest behind and pretend none of this is happening. But that's not how it ends at all. Itends with us killing each other behind each other's backs because we are so paranoid about this twisted virus. It ends with our species dying off. But it's not over yet. I won't let it be over yet. I have to find Cole and I's parents. I need to get back to Abigail. I need to make sure the others don't die, I couldn't let that happen. So I shot down the second hunter. And the third one.

Jamie Williams, the girl always buried up to her nose in books. Sits alone during breaks, always does whatever the teacher says, a straight-A student. She's got this weird idea in her head that teenage love is an unideal concept that distracts you from thinking clearly and stops you focusing entirely on life. I, however, think she's perfectly wrong.
