A short story.

In an apocalyptic world, a group of survivors are forced to survive in the new version of earth which is inhabited by psychopaths. No one knows how everything happened but all they know is if you get caught by them, you're dead.

I never bothered to aim down my sights, I was blinded by the cascading snow. I just wanted to pluck a couple leaves, eat some Reese's pieces, and go home. Leave the forest behind and pretend none of this is happening. But that's not how it ends at all. Itends with us killing each other behind each other's backs because we are so paranoid about this twisted virus. It ends with our species dying off. But it's not over yet. I won't let it be over yet. I have to find Cole and I's parents. I need to get back to Abigail. I need to make sure the others don't die, I couldn't let that happen. So I shot down the second hunter. And the third one.

On the way, he discovers just how quickly someone's life can change, and begins to solve the greatest mystery of his life- Ataraxy Smith.

As kids, Johnny and Dave were best friends; however, after a traumatizing event, Dave is out to get his revenge against Johnny and will stop at nothing to get his way. Along with the help of his super powered friends, he sets out to destroy the world of his former top pal. This is an action story, but it spends a lot of the time setting up characters and exploring dynamics leading up to the climactic conclusion. It does take a few chapters to get to the action, but I think the destination makes the journey worth it. This is my only action story, so please comment and tell me how I did and how I could improve for future stories or a possible rewrite or, a more likely, sequel.
