-Trigger Warning- This story will include self harm and (possibly) a suicide attempt (also very emo thoughts) and a lot of swearing. Eren is the type of guy to cover up whatever bullshit his heart is feeling with a bright smile. That is, until the death of his mother, when cracks spread through said bright smile and eren can't fake happiness as well anymore. Some notice, but don't say anything. Some are worried, but never find the right time to ask. The one person who finally catches Eren breaking down is Levi. Levi is a year older than Eren and goes to the same school. He has a reputation for being cold and violent to others. He is quite attractive so girls always gawk at him, but from a distance as they are scared of him too. The short boy is used to having close to zero strong relationships and friendships, but that doesn't mean he doesn't feel isolated or lonely. Can the two boys save each other from their pain? Or will they suffer more from the loss of each other?

After the events of The Rumbling, Levi keeps a journal (under Falco's suggestion). In it, he laments on things he lost; people, dreams, hopes. When Armin visits his old captain, and comes across this unfinished artefact, he becomes deeply touched, leaving only a matter of time before he informs his friends.
