Jay and Meg, best friends since they were eleven and together since they were fourteen, are looking at their university options when their world changes for good, and they are taken by mysterious Nowe-rens, aliens who are here to help - right? Meg's past is brought to the surface when her brother, Seth, turns up, and some of her best-kept secrets - even from Jay, the person with whom she's closest in the world - are brought into question. Seth brings with himself a world of hate that Meg doesn't think she's ready to face just yet. She doesn't think she can return to the days of her childhood, and Seth being around is exactly what she's being forced to do. All the while, Meg and Jay play liaison between Earth, the inhabitants of whom will never believe their story, and the Nowe-rens who claim they only want to help. In the first instalment of three, Meg and Jay must try to complete dangerous missions to assist the Nowe-rens in saving the Earth - or so they think.
