A few months ago, Lee Ha-rin didn't even know neighborhoods like this existed. Now, she lived here, on the 4th floor of a building with a rusted elevator and neighbors who stared too long at you.
The move from their old luxury villa has been fast and quiet. Her father had recently lost his job, and suddenly, the 'perfect life' Lee Ha-rin had always known was replaced by a cramped unit with peeling wallpaper. To the girls at Sehwa High, Ha-rin was only living here temporarily while her family's villa underwent massive renovations. She spent every day terrified that a single classmate would see her walking into this building and realize the 'Ice Queen' was actually a fraud.
But the dark has a way of stripping people of their pride.
When the elevator jolted to a stop and the lights died, Ha-rin's composure went with them. Trapped in the pitch-black box with a stranger she couldn't see, the secrets she had been hiding finally broke free. In the heat and the silence, she confessed everything.
She didn't realize that by the time the lights came back on, she would have a twenty-four hour hole in her memory, and her life would no longer belong to her alone.
