As they go more into war, Arthur finds himself not only befriending the young solider, but even falling in love with him. Their platoon moves out, settling into new war zones, but facing the truth though, any second could be their last, and he doesn't want to lose him.

When England was a young lad, he met an angel with golden hair. An angel who was too kind, he thought.

You could let me make you happy, you could start to feel the same for me. Those simple words leaving Kiku with frantic anxiety as he paces his home, the minutes turning to long hours as he waits for Heracles to walk through that door. Six days of waiting and loneliness which he had spend four years indulged in while the war kept his beloved from coming back. If only time was as painless as it seemed.

The previous year had been difficult. Too much grief, too much stress, too much sadness. Mathilde wasn't sure if she was herself then. To start the new year, it only made sense to clear out reminders of the previous. Though she was nervous, since she had never allowed her hair to be so short before.

Before his performance on the Olympic Rink he is seen by his old friend and usual competitor, Alfred F Jones, an ice skater that represents the United States in many competitions Internationally, and many other recognisable faces from around the world. During their stay in Belarus Kiku's feelings towards Alfred suddenly change as he starts developing romantic feelings for his American friend.
