An identical pair of twins, the older Alfred, and the younger, Matthew, are junior students at a high school in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They are living in an abusive foster home. Matthew is studious and is kind to everyone, while Alfred does anything to protect his younger twin and is a player on the football team. Arthur, his husband, Francis, and their daughter, Victoria, move to the US for Francis's job. Arthur begins teaching at the high school Victoria starts attending and has the two twins in his classes. Matthew is kind to him, while Alfred is quite the opposite. Arthur soon discovers the devastating life the boys are living through.
