My imagination on the video game series A Plague Tale would have been if Arthur and Rodric survived while Mélie stayed with the de Rune siblings.

A romance in the time of death and crazy rats eating people alive is...kinda hard, I won't lie. But that's what makes that love so special. It's like a little sparkle which that dark world up.

*spoilers for A Plague Tale: A Requiem please don't read ahead if you don't like spoilers* It's been ten long years since that fateful day in front of the macula with that dreaded decision Amicia had to make. Ten long years since her brother died by her own hands with the support of her friend who had been fighting to keep him alive too. Since then, they had been in contact and supporting each other to give hope to the future. Lucas had become a well known alchemist secretly working to solve the problem of the macula, and Amicia was trying to find ways to preserve messages for the future carriers and protectors. Trying to give them a hope Amicia and Hugo didn't have. Amicia hadn't seen Lucas in many years even though they kept in contact through letters and messages left in places they frequented. Now she was facing an entirely different problem as she met with Lucas again after so many years. What did he mean to her now? *rated mature. Some language and violence.

After Amicia is hurt by a pair of guards trying to escape with Rodric, the blacksmith's son has to step up to save his new friend's life. If he doesn't succeed, then he would lose more than just one life.

Spoiler for Chapter 13! Hugo is missing since a week and Amicia hasn't been the same since. Melie watched her the whole time out of worry and finally decides that she has to do something to help her. And the thief already got a wonderful idea... This fanfiction already has been posted on Tumblr and AO3 by me, but the Plague Tale fanfics here could use some fresh wind, so I'm chiming in as well hehe~

Lucas had been working on the elixir from the book Sanguinis Itinera and is becoming increasingly frustrated at his lack of advancement with it. Hugo is degrading quite suddenly over the fears that his mother may be dead by now. After further questioning, Lucas realizes they're going to need more than what he has his makeshift laboratory. Amicia de Runes life was that of a normal noble lady. Until the Inquisition came to take her brother, who suffers from a mysterious disease. Now, in the midst of the Hundred Years war and the Black Death, the two orphaned siblings must survive and hide from the Inquisition. Accompanying them is their closest friend, a young knight, who has sworn to protect the children with his life.
