Alternate Universe one shot from A Plague Tale Innocence Story inspired by fanart by mrin-lumi on Tumblr! In an alternate timeline, Amicia did not lie to Hugo about their mother, and they had managed to keep him stable over a longer period of time with Lucas' help and the book Sanguinis Itenera. It's been a year and a half since Lucas the Apprentice met the de Rune siblings, and they have been sheltering with the other orphans of Chateau D'Ombrage for most of that time. Lucas had been working on the elixir from the book Sanguinis Itinera and is becoming increasingly frustrated at his lack of advancement with it. Hugo is degrading quite suddenly over the fears that his mother may be dead by now. After further questioning, Lucas realizes they're going to need more than what he has his makeshift laboratory. They're going to have to go back to Amicia's old home... just him and Amicia. And Lucas receives a surprise reaction he was not anticipating.

Being the daughter of an Englishman and a Frenchwoman wasn't easy: especially in the midst of war. Denice, whose father is a soldier in the Inquisition, is forced to grow up when her mother dies mysteriously in the night. Nearly sacrificed by the soldiers who protected her in return for quickly diminishing supplies, she is saved by orphans around her age and realizes they are the true meaning of family. The fairy Amicia had heard tale of the infamous sorcerer who prowled the forests around his tower searching for fairies to eat. But her little brother Hugo needed the herbs around the tower or else he'd die! Dare she approach the tower to save her brother??

My imagination on the video game series A Plague Tale would have been if Arthur and Rodric survived while Mélie stayed with the de Rune siblings.

Spoiler for Chapter 13! Hugo is missing since a week and Amicia hasn't been the same since. Melie watched her the whole time out of worry and finally decides that she has to do something to help her. And the thief already got a wonderful idea...
