[Arabian Nights meets Atlantis] She wants to save her family. He wants to save his people. After selling all of her belongings to survive, Alara has nothing-except a burn scar left by her unknown father and a sick mother she has to take care of. In order to survive, Alara steals and trades what she can. The only escape she has is when she closes her eyes and imagines a different life for herself. Zayen has been raised to be a guard to the royal family, and has to protect his identity or be killed. Some would say that all of his worth is in his surname. He would say that his worth only comes from the good he can do for those who need it. But that's easier said then done in a world where the pure of heart get left behind. When Alara and Zayen are forced to work together, they uncover a world that tried to stay hidden. Everything becomes possible, and none of it is safe.

Let us go back in time, into the Arabian Nights. Layla is a fierce young girl that battles every stereotype for a girl of her time. She gets what she wants whenever she wants it. But will it last forever?

"Please don't do this." She said in a manly voice. "Oh hun, don't be a fuss. I look- No we-" He gestures his fingers to his friends and emphasizing his threatening words. "-Look for a trouble to the one who looks for trouble too, so your conclusion is to 'don't you ever cross the fucking line.'" Not to mention that his other friends holding her in both arms. "I pro-promise, pl-please! Let me go and I'll tell you the truth." She said in worried tone but still in manly and thick voice. "What truth?" Saying in wide eyes. The audience are watching and listening carefully, ready to scatter the rumors. "The whole thing are lies, I've been dis-" She didn't stop, the head of the school did: principal. "All of you get back to class! Dan! Hue! And the rest of your friends, to my office now!" Mrs. Stepper yelled at them causing Hue to let go of her thick layers of clothes. She stumbled back and fell. "We're not done yet, Dan." Words rolling out from his tongue with promises, looking around and getting ready to head towards principal's office. N O T E : If you might wondering 'her (mostly "she" is stated above)' name is Dan, she's in disguise to cover up her past.

These are a series of stories I made up for my 5yo as bedtime stories. She has trouble going to sleep, so I tell her to lie down and close her eyes and listen, then at least her body and mind have a chance to wind down. I don't like kids stories that rely on witchcraft and magic spells or fairies etc. The central plot device is a flying knitted blanket - idea pinched from Arabian Nights' flying carpet. At no point is it controllable or described as 'magical', although there is nothing to stop you calling it magic yourself. Happy reading and sweet dreams!
