Grimsdell Wood, the forest surrounding Castle Macindaw and the home of Malcolm and his people, has been said to be haunted for years. Little under a year ago, people started disappearing. They would wander into the forest and never be seen again. Rumor had it that Malkallam would snatch them in the dark. Only a select few know that the forest is not actually haunted, but a figure of tricks and illusions. Still, villagers would disappear. Not even Malcolm knows to where. Always the Ranger, Will, along with Halt, Princess Cassandra, Horace, and Alyss investigate. Only to disappear as well. How will Araluen survive without its saviors? The better question : What will happen when our favorite Medieval Legend and Greek Hero collide in an epic race against time? Author's Note : Please pretend that Will is around the same age as Percy, even though he should be much older.

Will and Alyss may not be my OTP (well, let's face it, they were like my first OTP) but they are pretty close to it. You can still read the beginning though) After a dangerous explosion, Hawkeye and his son Nathaniel are mysteriously dragged into the world of Araluen. When a forest fire separates them, all they want is to find one another and get home. But it's not as easy as it seems... *Note: This book is set in Araluen, shortly after Ranger's Apprentice Book 9 and before the events of Book 10 etc.

Heather, the younger twin sister of princess Cassandra, is a rebel. She hates neat things and she hates the lessons about being a good girl. Then she meets the ranger Crowley. Her eyes are opened when she joins the rangers corps as his apprientice. !almost all of the characters aren't mine, there from John Flanagan! ~This story is obviously a Ranger's Apprentice fanfic. It takes place before book eleven. (There are also a few relationship changes; Cassandra and Horace are in love, but aren't married. Also, Jenny and Gilan are not together.) When the special task force of Halt, Will, and Horace are on a mission to Skandia with the Crown Princess Cassandra, (a.k.a. Evanlyn) to renew the treaty between Skandia and Araluen, they are ambushed on the way back by pirates, and Cassandra is taken prisoner. The Skandians are completely unprepared for another group of raiders both skilled in fighting and sailing, that have ships even larger than the Skandian's wolfships. The pirates' nationality is unheard of by both Skandia and Araluen, so a quest is sent out to not only rescue Cassandra, but also discover more about the strange men and their country. Along the way, everyone's favorite heroes, Will, Halt, and Horace, team up with old faces, like the Heron brotherband and Emperor Shigeru, and they also meet new characters, both friend and foe.

The Scotti are back in Araluen, and they've tripled in force. Castle Macindaw has been taken, and armies are advancing through Norgate with intent to eventually take over the commanding fief. Will, Halt, and the rest of the Special Task Force have been called to ride out to meet them, with Araluen's armies at their backs - but will it be enough to stop the masses of bloodthirsty conquerors?
