Tacita should not exist. She is an oxymoron, a combination of two opposites. Her existence is seemingly contradictory - and she's the only one who's even aware of it.
Oh, and she's a witch living in a Puritan society, hiding her identity from her family and doing her best to conform to social norms.
But is her best enough in an unfamiliar land amongst nameless strangers? It becomes harder to hide when everyone is constantly watching.
Tacita is playing with fire both physically, and metaphorically.
