A bleak tragedy about Lars, an ageing Greenlandic fisherman whose family is slowly destroyed as foreign military pressure, collapsing local industry, and his own stubborn pride close in around him. While the United States tightens control over Greenland's ports and tensions with Europe escalate towards war, Lars fights a smaller battle at home: trying to stop his son from leaving the island for university.
