When Shonagh runs into a magitek soldier on her journeys years later, she finds she has the same marking on her body as it did. Wanting answers, she tries to ask other people in the Lucis area, only to have them back away and say to not come near them. Confused, Shonagh stops asking people what the mark is for and hides it with whatever she can. Whatever it is, it's not welcomed in Lucis.
