The first time Isla Carter met Leo Hayes, she wanted to throw her camera at him.
"Hey, watch it, Princess," Leo growled, steadying a tray full of plated entrées that nearly toppled to the ground.
Isla's eyes narrowed. "Maybe don't walk into the middle of my shot, Chef."
She had been hired to do a feature on 'Hayes & Co.,' Leo's high-end restaurant, but from the moment she stepped into his kitchen, they had been at war.
He found her presence distracting, while she found his arrogance unbearable.
"You're in my kitchen," Leo pointed out, leaning close, his voice low. "Playing too many little games might get you in trouble, Princess."
Isla bristled. "I don't play games, Chef. I win them."
With that, she turned, snapping a picture of his scowl before marching away, leaving Leo to smirk.
He didn't know whether to be annoyed or intrigued. Either way, he had a feeling Isla Carter wasn't leaving his life anytime soon.
