I loved the anime and deeply connected with it and here I am lol. It got the ending it deserved, but obviously none of us were satisfied so here we go. Kousei Arima was hit by what he had just seen during his performance. He saw HER disappear and he was beyond devastes. she was gone. However he gets a surprise visit and learns Kaori had survived the surgery. She wasn't gone. But Kousei never gets the letter. He, along with Tsubaki and Watari, wait days for Kaori to recover and eventually visit her, with nothing being the same ever again The ending we all wanted, from yours truly
