The last sweeping winds of autumn had left the old oak trees haggard and bare, ripping their final layer of leaves away. Themis shivered as the cold soaked into her skin. She crawled through the snow, seeing her hands leave the contrasting imprint of bloody red. Her skin was nearly blue at this point, appearing partially translucent. She knew it was only moments before consciousness escaped her and she would be left here to freeze to death, In the midst of her worries, Themis heard the sound of boots against the concrete which lay mere feet away from her. She tried to still herself, but her shaking body betrayed her wishes. A shaky breath left her mouth, fearing just who may have stumbled across her in her sorry state.
