Prince Dedus has been abducted by the Chaoticians, shattering a century of peace in the Realm of Logic! Called to action, young Aris Tuttle sets out on a kingdom-wide adventure in which he must solve a mystery in a mountain village, unravel a conspiracy within the Eruda Academy, and uncover an underground society where the "Guildless" ply their unlawful trades. As each challenge draws Aris ever closer to finding Prince Dedus, he discovers the truth behind the Chaoticians, as well as the dark secrets of the Realm in which he lives. Thank you for your interest in "Aris Tuttle in the Realm of Logic." My favorite book has always been The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. I have read it more times than I can count and always find something new to appreciate. When I was in my early 20s, I had the audacity to write Mr. Juster to ask him if I could write a sequel to his beloved book. I was thrilled when he responded, but I wasn't surprised when he rejected my proposal. Instead, he gave me sage advice that I have never forgotten: why write someone else's stories when everyone has their own story to tell? It resonated with me and so, taking inspiration from Mr. Juster, Aris Tuttle was born. Like The Phantom Tollbooth, "Aris Tuttle in the Realm of Logic" has some whimsical elements, but it is focused on a flawed protagonist. Aris is good-natured and polite, but also sheltered, narrow-minded and idealistic. But with each trial he faces, his view of the world broadens and he learns more about the person he is and the man he wants to become. I hope you enjoy it and would welcome your feedback. This is what happens when you take a writer and give her lots of Ethics revision to do: as bizarre as I knew this was going to make me look, I decided to take the crazy philosophical adventures my mind had been concocting and put them onto paper...by which I mean screen. So, yes, this series of chapters is the result of me trying to make revision that much more interesting.

The arms race began in Mesopotamia with the invention of composite bows, light chariots and crossbows. The Persian (Iranian) emperor tried to conquer Athens in 480 BCE but was delayed by the Spartans at Thermopylae while Greek warships destroyed the Persian fleet. The Macedonian ruler, Alexander the Great, completely destroyed the Persian armies by 326 BCE and established the Greek empire. Then, between 600 and 200 BCE, a few hundred Greeks revolutionized science, mathematics, medicine, engineering, history, law and philosophy. Meanwhile, Greeks settlers in Sicily were in conflict with Rome and, by first century BCE, Romans had conquered Greece, Egypt, Carthage and the old Persian empire. Roman traders made large profits using the Silk Road between Rome, China and India and which created higher incomes though out the Roman empire. Roman engineers built more than 80,000 km of roads throughout the empire and 800 km of aqueducts in Rome delivered a million cubic metres of water each day. WHO THE HELL ARE WE? is a series of short books and videos describing the evolution of civilization. Almost everyone on the planet is five times wealthier than their ancestors only 50 years ago. This astonishing phenomenon has also improved health, education, and longevity. The cause; an explosive growth in ideas and productivity. It began when we learned to control fire, evolved articulate speech and stumbled onto the way to create infinite wealth; free trade. The discovery of agriculture made us richer but we also learned how to destroy wealth. Great civilization grew up but then disappeared leaving only incredible ruins and ideas.
