One of them is an E2 class tank engine named Thomas, who knows his father back in 1914. Meanwhile William Morris fights on different fronts (Europe -> North Africa -> Burma) with two things: survive to see his son again and figure out his childhood friend is. Thomas is a the NWR #1 tank engine who decides to look after Johnny who reminds him of someone in the last war.
