January is considered the perfect girl, with the perfect friends, the perfect looks, and the perfect personality. She takes a break from school to go visit some family in a remote town somewhere in Nebraska. On top of all this when ever going 'home' is mentioned, even just the word, she seems to either brake in rage or sadness. The fake smile isn't enough to shield herself from them. At the end of it all she is given ultimatum by her family in the mail, either come and live with them, or stay on her own here in Oregon, without help or support from anyone but her friends.
