Arnold comes back from San Lorenzo to start highschool, and Helga got her expectations too high. But soon, the tables start to turn.

*THIS IS A CANON-DIVERGENT RETELLING OF 2017'S HEY ARNOLD! THE JUNGLE MOVIE* I wrote this story from 2005-2011, back when The Jungle Movie looked like it had a snowball's chance of being developed. In the original edit of the story, I gave Arnold the last name of Schwartz; official canon confirms that his last name is actually Shortman. Fan consensus at the time had already come to this conclusion, so when I re-released the story on Deviantart, that was one of the first changes I made. At the time when I initially wrote the story, it was script format, as I wasn't quite comfortable with writing traditional narrative. Now, with several other fanfics under my belt, I feel like it's time to re-visit the story one final time and present it in a way that most fans would prefer to have it read. It may seem redundant to post this again now that the story was officially concluded in 2017, but I'd like one final opportunity to express what I was hoping for from The Jungle Movie. Helga is at the top of her game. She is one of the youngest and most well-paid chief editors in the city. Life couldn't be any better for her. That is until Arnold walks into her publishing house as the new graphic designer. The two have a complicated past that has to lead to a frienemy type relationship.
