Elena Santiago is going back to the old family house on Calle Lunas, Tondo, the place known for its poverty and other vices. But she is very determined that her children will have a safe place where they can start all over again. The house, however, shows them its dark side right at the very beginning, through the sound of restless footsteps, and the nasty feeling of being watched. At night, the kids whisper about the ghosts in the room, saying that these are the beings who claim the house. Elena thinks the house is mainly full of ghosts and the very spot where the family suffered death during the war is the only remaining link to the family that the war wiped out. The spirits are hard to deal with because they demand the acknowledgment of a past that was brutally erased. "The House on Calle Lunas" is a Filipino thriller that explores the subjects of generational memory, unfinished tales, and the delicate barrier between the living and the dead.

This story is an interpretation done by myself after going over the poem "Mirror." The story is told from the woman in the poem's point of view. Please enjoy and tell me if I made a mistake in relating to the poem or if you are confused.
