❝ i no longer believed in the idea of soul mates, or love at first sight. But I was beginning to believe that a very few times in your life if you were lucky, you might meet someone who was exactly right for you. not because he was perfect, or because you were, but because your combined flaws were arranged in a way that allowed two separate beings to hinge together ❞ ⸻ lisa kleypas, blue-eyed devil ═══════════════════ ♔*·˚ |THE ALBION ESCAPADES - A SERVANT'S FRIENDSHIP: BOOK 1| [Season 1] ...in progress...

The Children of the May saga continues... Secrets. Lies. Someone Must Die... Stranded on Avalon, Drift is transformed. Back in Britain, Mordred’s war against King Arthur is plagued by disasters and defeats. Merlin and the knights of the round table are more powerful and more vicious than ever. When Drift comes back to the mainland, Britain will shake from the isles of Orkney to the kick of Cornwall. When secrets are revealed, a friend and a foe must die... Ides of the May is the second novel in S. J. Moore’s Children of the May saga. Inventively adapted from tales in Thomas Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur and other medieval sources, the Children of the May stories are full of action, adventure, magic, humour and romance - a version of the Arthurian legends for today.

After centuries... The once had been, the future had come and now, the future was now. Arthur was back. (Disclaimer: I do not own Merlin/ The Adventures of Merlin. To do so I would have to be BBC. If I was BBC, I would be rich but I am not because ai am not BBC and I do not own Merlin. This story is simply a fanfiction and should be considered free advertising. I also do not own the picture taken of Glastonbury Tor which was used as the cover image of this story. I simply just put a filter on it because I think it looks pretty nice like that. :) ) The plot and sequence of words found in this story is to GNxDDD.

No longer a Princess of Cameliard, Guinevere is now a Queen. Queen of Camelot and wife of King Arthur Pendragon. She must use all of what she has been taught to become the Queen her new husband, the court and the people expect her to be. She must learn how to rule alongside Arthur, produce an heir and learn who and who not to trust. In order to do this she must find a strength within her she does not yet know as being married to the greatest King in England comes with many occupational and personal challenges. Along with suffering from the aftermath of being ambushed by bandits on their way to Camelot, Guinevere quickly learns that there is little room for weakness and fear in Camelot's court. Vowing to never be caught in another similar position, she enlists the help of the only other person aside from Arthur that she trusts - Lancelot. Guinevere is determined to be a fearless, loyal and confident Queen, able to balance her obligations to Camelot as well as her life with Arthur. But sometimes determination is not enough when both the heart and circumstance work against her. (First draft) _____________________________________________________________________________ *This is a fictional tale, based loosely on 'fact' from legends and existing stories. My aim was to write from the perspective of Guinevere, to add some depth to the tales. I have embellished quite a lot, so quests and battles may not be in the correct order and characters may be construed a little differently, but I hope to capture the turmoil and doomed relationships in my story. I wanted to explore the possible reality of the legend from an empathic point of view, to explore the emotions and difficulties that my protagonist may have actually felt in her position.

The tale of King Arthur has been told and retold innumerable times, always with the same gallery of characters whirling around him, sometimes emerging into the limelight, fading into the background, combining, dividing... but always there is the Crown on his brow, the Sword of fair Sir Lancelot, the wandering Heart of beautiful Guinevere - and at the story's end, dark-eyed Mordred, dreadful Mace in hand, ready to deliver the final punch-line of the familiar tragedy. But what if there was another story, behind it all - one untold, where these well-worn characters show the faces that they hid from the public? If one looks away from the grandiose drama of armies, kingdoms, thrones and destinies - you are left with four people, and the bonds that bound them...

In 1480 Marie Bellecourt, a possibly mad 15 year old French noblewomen, is sent to England to marry a man she has never met before. But before she can reach him, she and her escorts are attacked by monsters. Saved by a strange and somewhat sullen boy, Marie is determined to stay by his side, whether he likes it or not, as she sees her chance to live a life of adventure and excitement and finally get answers about all the impossible, magical things she sees. Henry has no interest in heroics. His family were heroes who hunted monsters to protect the ordinary, non-magical people of England and all that got them was killed. Alone and disillusioned, Henry is suddenly presented with an opportunity to live a life of comfort and wealth. All he has to do is rescue a young Elisabeth of York from Morgan Le Fay, one of the most powerful witches in history. Doable...probably. His quest isn't made any easier by Marie, an irritating, spoilt girl, who insists on following on his journey. But the more time they spend together, the more he finds himself enjoying the company and wondering if being a hero would really be so bad. (I wrote Marie as having ADHD but considering the time in which this story is set she can't have an official diagnosis.)
