The stars danced in the sky, glistening and twinkling in the shape of a sword. All the magic in the world seemed to celebrate the return of something, or someone. A dark-haired boy stuck his head out of the window of his house to study the peculiar constellation. The sword in the stone; Excalibur. It was a sign, a sign saying the once and future king was back. It's modern times. Merlin has been living alone since Arthur's death. What happens when Arthur returns, how does Arthur react to Merlin's magic. Merlin only expected Arthur's return but he got all the Knights and Gwen too. Basically a combination story of Merlin's magic and Arthur and Co adjusting to the modern world.

Hello! This is my Merlin fanfiction. Since I know I will never get over how Merlin ended, I made this in modern times to describe how Arthur comes back. I do not own any of these characters. I may write a sequel to this story in the future. This story starts out with Merlin and tells a bit about his life since Arthur died. Until one day he sees Arthur running along the path. Merlin talks with Arthur and shortly figures out that he has no idea who Merlin is. Merlin must make Arthur remember and find out why Arthur has returned while restoring the friendship that they once had.

Arthur returns from Avalon, to discover some things never change with his old servant, yet everything is entirely different. In a time more excepting of different types of relationships and less excepting of servant hood, what will Arthur think of these changes?

Read the title. Seriously, I have too many fandoms but not enough ideas to warrant a one-shot book for each so this is just the chaos that my brain comes up with while I'm doing random things.
