Merlin lays his life on the line to save Arthur yet again, only this time there are witnesses, lots of them. Only Arthur prevents him going to the headman's axe straight away, but Arthur alone cannot save him. That is up to both of them. More than 1,000 years after Arthur's death, Merlin is still waiting for his King's return. He waits in an abandoned, yet fully decorated observatory on the shore of the Lake of Avalon. Merlin finds a way to elongate Freya's life, in that time she becomes pregnant with a little girl. After she dies the little girl was dropped off at Merlin's door step. Can Merlin raise her? What will happen when the others find out? I got the idea for this story from a plot point mentioned in @LSTimetraveler 's book How To Court A Servant. Arthur is under a spell and it is up to Merlin to figure out how to break it. I am marking as completed because the story can end at chapter 4. However I may add to this in the future if you guys want more! Best stats (28.7.20): #2 lovespell

Merlin sat quietly in his orange chair, mesmerized by the boy's sparkling eyes. "I'm Arthur," he said suddenly, holding out his good hand for Gwen to shake. "I'm Gwen, well, Guinevere, but, you know..." she trailed off, taking his hand in her own and shaking it. "Oh, this is Lancelot, and this is Merlin." Arthur's eyes dismissed Lancelot with a glance, but stayed fixated on Merlin, and Merlin could feel himself going slightly plum. He pushed a piece of stray hair behind his ear, smiling awkwardly. Arthur smiled back. "Hello, Merlin," Arthur spoke in soft tones, and each sentence sounded serenely happy, going up slightly at the end. It fascinated Merlin, who's stomach was doing summersaults. His heart thudded; he'd never held such a silent yet long conversation with anyone who managed to be interesting without speaking a word. - High school au. Some strong language. © dorrito 2016. Slow updates because it takes me a long time to read through the transcripts and decide how and when I want to change bits of it. [Bit of an AU -> Everyone is accepting of gay/lesbian couples but Uther still wants Arthur to marry for the sake of Camelot] Arthur wakes up, his most recent memory is him dying. He's been given a second chance but has been warned to NOT mess this one up too. He has all the memories of what happened before his death, even those he shouldn't have cause he wasn't there but he rolls with it. Arthur assumes Merlin would remember too but he's sadly mistaken when Merlin acts the same as "the first time around." Arthur's top priority besides making sure Merlin still becomes his servant: Get Merlin to tell him about his magic or purposefully look for it and catch him. He wants this so they can pretty much start out with no secrets between them. Little do they know, there's something different with Morgana this time around.
