Really, there's only one problem present: Arthur needs an heir. In order to solve this predicament, three princesses are invited to stay in Camelot for Arthur to court until he can choose his bride. Thing is: Merlin is in love with Arthur, and he could never bear to see his king fall in love with anyone else. And Arthur isn't even sure if he wants to get married himself... (This is an AU! Merlin lays his life on the line to save Arthur yet again, only this time there are witnesses, lots of them. Only Arthur prevents him going to the headman's axe straight away, but Arthur alone cannot save him. That is up to both of them. Pairing: Merlin/Arthur This is set some time after season 1 of BBC's Merlin. It was originally written for the Merlin Big Bang on Livejournal in 2009.

COMPLETE: Arthur has returned from the depths of Avalon and Merlin is overjoyed, but he doesn't remember anything at all. Merlin will go to any lengths to bring back his memories, but things aren't all as they seem. ... Word count: 7600~ ...

"Merlin!" a voice rang out into the distance. "Merlin!" it repeated again, the distressed tone only increasing each time. Arthur had repeated his manservant's name several times now and so far, he'd gotten no results. Safe to say, he was worrying his princely socks off. He firmly shook Merlin's shoulder, begging for him to wake up on the inside, but on the outside, he was just shouting his name. "Merlin!" he yelled for the tenth time, the man who lay in front of him not responding. 'Well, of course he wouldn't,' the back of Arthur's mind told him. 'He's fallen off a cliff for God's sake.' OR Merlin falls off a cliff and Arthur learns that it's not the first time this has happened. So, Merlin tells Arthur a tale from when he was a boy.

Merlin and Arthur awaken to find something has changed drastically with each of them.

In which Merlin is court sorcerer, and the knights bet that they can beat Merlin in a fight. Merlin happily accepts the challenge, knowing well that the knights of Camelot don't stand much of a chance against him. He is the most powerful sorcerer in the world after all. Meanwhile, Arthur struggles to keep his feelings for Merlin under wraps. Merlins a sassy shit, and Arthur's in love with Him, obviously.

Slow updates because it takes me a long time to read through the transcripts and decide how and when I want to change bits of it. [Bit of an AU -> Everyone is accepting of gay/lesbian couples but Uther still wants Arthur to marry for the sake of Camelot] Arthur wakes up, his most recent memory is him dying. He's been given a second chance but has been warned to NOT mess this one up too. He has all the memories of what happened before his death, even those he shouldn't have cause he wasn't there but he rolls with it. Arthur assumes Merlin would remember too but he's sadly mistaken when Merlin acts the same as "the first time around." Arthur's top priority besides making sure Merlin still becomes his servant: Get Merlin to tell him about his magic or purposefully look for it and catch him. He wants this so they can pretty much start out with no secrets between them. Little do they know, there's something different with Morgana this time around.

This is based off of another fanfiction from a friend of mine, The_Painted_ho. I read hers and got struck with inspiration! I hope you like it

Arthur seeks to impress Tao, Knight of the North, He wants to match his skill in combat, yet he always seems far. Morgana desires to follow Cazador, Knight of the Northeast. He is not only handsome and kind, but he is valiant. Azer, knight of the south wants to get to know Guinivere, Morgana's beautiful, kind maid. Gaius would like to learn more from the Knight of the West, Zircon. She is very advanced in medicines and science, he wishes to earn that knowledge from her. Shirah is constantly followed from the shadows by a precarious band of knights whom want to earn her skill in combat. Tao knows something is different about Merlin. Merthur from Uther's POV Magic was always Legal since Ygraine never died. Merlin is the son of Lord Balinor and his wife Lady Hunith. Merlin and Arthur have been friends since birth but let's be honest, it always been more than that.

Merlin has always felt out of place, he always felt like he didn't belong. No one batted an eye towards him, so he never spoke unless spoken to. He didn't have any friends..until he met the prince of Camelot, Arthur. Arthur was adored, mesmerized, and worshiped by his people. But he locked eyes with Merlin, and things took a twist. I don't own the show, nor do I own the characters. It's just a fanfiction!

The year is 2019 and Merlin hasn't been able to get over himself, even after all these years. Arthur has been dead for centuries. After his death, Merlin was devastated and left Camelot. Years passed and Merlin hasn't aged much, if at all. Memories faded and some- most- have been erased. When something calls to Arthur, the king and the warlock are reunited.
