Aru Shah wasn't remotely in the place to have another relationship, much less settle down and start a family. One thing leads to another, and both Aru and Aiden find themselves wrapped up in a rollercoaster of secrets, built up emotion, and unanswered questions. This is an AU from the book serie "Aru Shah". Big part of the characters are from the awesome Roshani Chokshi. Aru have lost everything because The Otherworld, a secret spy society. The ones that were supposed to protected her, turned her back to her when they discovered who her dad was (a murder part of the Dark). They killed their mother, a member of the society, and left her in a world of shadows. Her father, the Sleeper, took care of her and her big sister, Kara, after that, teaching them how to use their powers and turning them in murderers. Even though Aru try to keep everyone away, she let pass her walls to Yamini, Mini, her best friend, who was recruited to form part of the Dark, when the Otherworldly rejected her for her brother. Meanwhile, Aiden hates the Dark with all his heart. They took everything from him and he had to live since then with his cousin Rudra, Rudy. He trained to became a spy like his parents with her awesome best friend Brynne Rao, and taking care of two orphans with special abilities, Nikita and Sheela. But what happened when Aru and Aiden get to know each other for the first time? When they stories collided and find someone just like them, but that's fighting for the opposite? Did Aru want to go to the new years party? No. Would she rather be on her couch in her pajamas watching Lord of the Rings while eating way too much Swedish Fish? Who wouldn't? Her father. Her father wouldn't. He wanted her to go there and "socialize" which was code for "you need to find someone to marry because your life's really sad". It was some party for his law firm he started with one of his friends too, not even like a rager which would've been mildly fun. Aiden's father was a crappy one at best. So when Aiden's dad made him the photographer at some stupid new year's party that he was throwing for his law firm, of course he protested. But he couldn't look at his mom so happy about it and still tell her that he didn't wanna do it. So he was still the photographer. Arundhati Shah is the heir of the gang that was passed down by many generations in their family, Black Emperor. Then, she was assigned by her father, Suyodhana Shah, to spy on the gang that's been fighting Black Emperor, the Black Dragons, which is led by Malini Archarya. When she meets Aiden Archarya, the heir of White Dragons, she did not immediately get along, and in fact earned herself a frenemy. But then, Aru starts hearing terrible things about her father.
