Aru Shah's life get's absolutely upturned when she has to move from her beloved mother's house to her aunt's orphanage. Not choice, but need. Did Aru want to go to the new years party? No. Would she rather be on her couch in her pajamas watching Lord of the Rings while eating way too much Swedish Fish? Who wouldn't? Her father. This is an AU from the book serie "Aru Shah". Big part of the characters are from the awesome Roshani Chokshi. Aru have lost everything because The Otherworld, a secret spy society. The ones that were supposed to protected her, turned her back to her when they discovered who her dad was (a murder part of the Dark). They killed their mother, a member of the society, and left her in a world of shadows. Her father, the Sleeper, took care of her and her big sister, Kara, after that, teaching them how to use their powers and turning them in murderers. Even though Aru try to keep everyone away, she let pass her walls to Yamini, Mini, her best friend, who was recruited to form part of the Dark, when the Otherworldly rejected her for her brother. Meanwhile, Aiden hates the Dark with all his heart. They took everything from him and he had to live since then with his cousin Rudra, Rudy. He trained to became a spy like his parents with her awesome best friend Brynne Rao, and taking care of two orphans with special abilities, Nikita and Sheela. But what happened when Aru and Aiden get to know each other for the first time? When they stories collided and find someone just like them, but that's fighting for the opposite? There she meets prince Aiden and a blossoming love grows. Old memories are revealed, sacrifices are made, and Aru must keep her identity secret and not let anyone, not even Aiden, know. Join Aru as she fights the Sleeper and his army, to stop him from overthrowing the king and overtaking all of ancient India! Plus Aru has a mini pet elephant named Airavata! He can make tiny clouds!
