Meanwhile, the Chozha Empire is once again beset by problems, which the Ilaiya Piratti, Kundavai has to face. With plots, mysteries and schemes afoot, will the Pandiya rebels succeed? Please don't judge the book by it's cover - the cover's bad I know This is an extension of Kalki Krisnamurthy's Ponniyin Selvan. I understand that try I might, but I will not be able to replicate or even draw near Kalki's style of writing. However, this is a pet project, so here we go. Re-imaginations of the Iliya Piratti Kundavai Devi and Vana Kula Ilavarase Vallavaraiyan Vanthiyathevan

A reading of Ponniyin Selvan from Nandini's perspective. Nandini is the narrator of this story and the events are presented as she (could have) comprehended them. I don't own any of the characters or situations.

trans: Empress Rajaraja Chola, before he was called that, was named Arulmozhivarman. Before she came to be known as Lokamahadevi, the queen of all worlds, her name was Bhagyalakshmi. In which a kovilil paadum pen (girl who sings at a temple) and a pattatthu ilavarasar (crown prince) are unaware that the mistakes they make by loving each other have been made many times before, and the outcomes have never been happy. (have taken some historical liberty [especially w/ names]; more closely based on the events and aftermaths of Ponniyin Selvan, the literary magnum opus!)
