Ming Xia always knew she was different. Daughter of a general, she was born into nobility and wealth. However, she was also born daughter of a foreign princess. She never looked beautiful like other girls were expected be. Despite this, she was given the chance to be the envy of every girl in the capital: an engagement to the crown prince of the empire. But what should have been a happy ending, seemingly turns to a nightmare when she is thrown into the river to drown in the middle of the night. But when she opens her eyes, she find herself alive once more. But with her memories quickly fading, it becomes hard to tell what is real or perhaps a twisted dream.
