It makes perfect sense! How else can we explain the extraordinary disparity between human and primate evolutions? An alternate ending to The Shattered Castle where no wedding takes place. After the Prozarians have left Carthya, Jaron in the end realizes it is best if he doesn't marry Imogen and breaks his betrothal to her in the Great Hall of his Castle. He will always care for Imogen but he isn't in love with her anymore as he was before. Not after everything that has happened. The story also describes the aftermath of the events across the five books. The kingdom is at peace as Jaron reflects on all that that has happened so far in his life and talks with his friends and his brothers. The wars and battles he has faced have wounded him in ways no one has ever known. His condition is no different than the condition of the castle. But the Castle can be repaired and in some ways he is healing as well. Besides he knows he isn't alone anymore as he has always believed he was. He has people who have become his found family to make him feel more at peace than he ever has.

Comprises of slice of life hadcanons in a canon-divergent Ascendance Trilogy post-The Shattered Castle, where Jaron navigates kingship , joined by his friends and brother Darius( real- brother in this world), back to Carthya from Belland, in a slice-of-life tale of festival chaos and camaraderie. Buried in papers, Jaron trades quips with Roden, teases Tobias and shares nostalgic moments with Darius with their past antics-echoing through Drylliad's bustling preparations. The group tackles regents' complaints and festival frenzy, blending loyalty, mischief, and the bittersweet weight of shared history in a mostly canonical Carthya. (In this alternate universe, set post-The Shattered Castle, events, the story diverges with no marriage occurring for Jaron at the end of book 5)

Mott sat to my right from where he observed the scene around us. Finally, he looked at me and furrowed his brows. "I found the letter you wrote me and a gift in my room this morning. Why are we having a picnic today, Jaron?" I grinned. "Can't you tell?" He studied me for a moment, then slowly said. "I certainly can."

Amarinda spoke again. "I want to surprise him. I want him to celebrate his birthday properly this year." "Then you should go on ahead," I replied. "He would like it." She slowed her steps and turned to face me fully. "That is why I need your help." I stopped walking. "My help?" I studied her though I already suspected what she meant. "Why would you need my help?" Rather than answer she stared at me and raised her brows slightly, as if that alone should explain everything. After a moment I sighed, already knowing her message. "Of course. You want me to plan it."
